National Federation of Demolition Contractors

Switch Builds Demolition
The National Federation of Demolition Contractors was formed in 1941 to help clear Britain’s war torn cities of the devastation caused during the Blitz, making safe the homes, offices, factories, warehouses, hangers and buildings left as dangerous structures by bomb damage. Today the NFDC has grown into an organisation that represents the UK demolition and dismantling industry with a detailed and committed strategy for the future. It is now widely accepted that around 90% of the annual UK demolition workload is carried out by NFDC members.
Following a brand audit, Switch consolidated the various identifying devices employed by the NFDC and provided a new visual identity for the organisation. This has now been rolled out across all communications material, including the NFDC website which was designed and produced by Switch’s specialist new media division, Switch Web Design Solutions.
David Clarke, President of the NFDC commented, “Here at the National Federation of Demolition Contractors, we don’t demolish, dismantle or recycle anything. But we help our members to do so safely and environmentally by encouraging strict adherence to the very latest guidelines and Codes of Practice and by encouraging the professional training of all demolition personnel. The continued success of our remit requires us to be clear and authoritative and the solutions delivered by Switch both in terms of our visual identity and the NFDC website have helped our communications enormously.”
New Media Business Manager at Switch, Warren Drumm, continues, “Whilst the NFDC is steeped in history and tradition it operates at the sharp-end of government policy and represents best practice of its UK members across the globe. It’s been our privilege to have been invited to contribute our expertise to such a visible and important organisation.”
